Percussion is a quick way to produce bodywork results.  As it moves in waves through the body’s soft tissue, percussion unravels knots, softens scar tissue, breaks up trigger points, and reorganizes bundled muscle fibers. And the waves work very deeply into the soft tissue, into places where hand techniques cannot go and with much less discomfort (for client AND for therapist) than digging into the sore spots. Fifteen years ago we learned that the least expensive and most powerful way to get percussion into your bodywork was to adapt existing power tools to bodywork.  So, Robert designed an adapter for a common jigsaw.  He experimented with many designs and materials for manufacturing them.  We have available now a simple and sturdy adapter that will provide service in your bodywork for many years.

Instructional Materials

Each of our hands-on bodywork courses are paired with materials that allow you to study at home.  You can begin (and end) your study with these materials or you can use them to practice what you learn in the hands-on courses. Materials are organized into five parts:

1. Feet and Lower Legs
2. Hip and Thigh
3. Chest and Back
4. Arms, Shoulder and Neck
5. Introduction to Posture Balancing

Materials are available in two formats — DVD and written manual, each available by the parts above.

• The DVDs show Robert Petteway, the founder of Myopractic, demonstrating each of the techniques for that section.  You can actually get a feel for how he works on the body.
• The written manual, organized by the sections above, has drawings of the anatomy for the parts of the body covered in each section.  Then, it has one page for each technique in that section.  Each technique page provides both a drawing and written description of the technique along with a small anatomy drawing reminding you how the muscle you are addressing is positioned in the body.
